Visual Content - The Universal Language
Images are everything in social media. With an influx in the use of social media for marketing purposes, it is essential to stay competitive by using visual content. Once upon a time, visual content was a nice addition to a post; but now it is categorized as a necessity. According to Facebook, posts with photos receive approximately 37% more engagements than posts without.
Social media expert Jeff Bullas identifies visual content as a “universal language.” Everyone understands a photo and with the use of smart phones it has become increasingly simple to take and attach photos to your social media posts. Using visual content gives your audience a literal look at what your business or organization has to offer. It engages them to want to come back for more. Your audience becomes invested in your business or organization because they are seeing what you do and how you do it. By using photos you are including them in the process. Don’t just tell your audience what you are doing, show them. Show the process of a new product line from start to finish by posting before, during, and after pictures. Tell the world how great of a fundraiser your organization just had by posting pictures of the event. Allow people that may not have the opportunity to be there is person to experience what you are experiencing by posting a live video. The possibilities are endless.
